The HP Deskjet 2600 entry-level printer ensures hassle-free print and scan operations. The print speed of this printer is up to 16 ppm and the print time is 14 sec. The print resolution is 1200 dpi and the internal memory of HP Deskjet 2600 is 256 MB. The input paper tray can hold 120 pages, and the output tray can hold 25 pages. If you have just bought this printer, consider the procedure given below to set up the printer.
First, unpack the printer and verify the contents in the packaging box. Remove all the packing materials that include the tapes and protective films. Lower the output tray and lower the ink cartridge access door by holding the handle. If you find any packing materials inside the printer, remove them.
Once you have unpacked the printer, connect the power cord to it. Plug the power cord to the printer and connect the other end of the cable to a power source. If you are going to use a USB connection to connect the printer and computer, connect the USB cable only at the time of software installation when prompted. Touch the Power button on the printer to turn it on. When the carriage moves to the center of the printer and is idle, you can continue with the hardware installation.
Now, you can install the ink cartridges that are shipped along with the printer package. Remove each ink cartridge from the box. Make sure not to touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles. Also, remove the protective tape on the contacts of the ink cartridges. Remove the tape and carefully insert the ink cartridge into the correct slot by holding the sides of the cartridge. Insert both ink cartridges by following the same procedure. Push the ink cartridges until they snap into place. Insert the color ink cartridge on the left side and fix the black cartridge on the right. Close the ink cartridge access door. Also, close the output tray.
Choose your language and region using the navigation buttons. Tap on the OK button. After installing the ink cartridges, you can load either the U.S letter or A4 paper in the input tray. Open the input tray. Fan a stack of paper and align them on a flat surface. Then, load the paper stack into the input paper tray. Slide the paper guides towards the corners of the paper that you have loaded. Lower the output tray. Now, pull out the tray extender.
You can now install the printer software on your computer. Insert the installation disc into the CD drive of your computer. If you prefer, you can download the software from the official HP website by selecting your printer model number. Choose the preferred connection type and complete the installation by following the instructions on the screen. Once the HP Deskjet 2600 printer setup has been completed, you will be able to print from your computer.
