The HP Envy 4522 printer uses the thermal inkjet printing method to perform the print operation. This is a four-in-one printer that allows you to perform the printer-related operation over a USB cable connection or a wireless network. Almost all the versions of the Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems are supported by this printer. To install this printer, perform the simple instructions given below.


First, if you’re going to set up a new printer, then make to remove the printer from the box. Clear all the packing materials present around the printer. After unpacking the printer completely, connect it to an electrical outlet using the power cord. Usually, as soon as the printer is connected to the outlet, it will automatically turn ON. If the printer fails to turn ON automatically, then press the Power button on its control panel. Now, set the basic printer preferences as per your desire. After setting the printer preferences, pull out the paper tray, adjust the side edges, and place a stack of paper in the tray. Move the guides towards the printer until they stop at the edges of the paper. Make sure to slide out the output tray of your printer.


Now, unpack the ink cartridges provided with the printer. Raise the cartridge access door, insert the cartridges into their slots, and then close the cartridge access door. The printer will automatically print an alignment page. If the printer fails to do so, touch Setup > Tools > Align Printer. Now, the printer prints the alignment page.

Place the printed alignment page on your printer’s scanner glass. Touch the OK button on your printer’s control panel. Once the ink cartridge has been aligned, the next step is to perform the printer software installation process.


Insert the setup CD-ROM provided with the printer. If the CD-ROM is not provided or your computer doesn’t have the CD/DVD drive, then download the HP Envy 4522 printer driver file from this web page or the printer’s official site. Click the Driver Download button provided on this screen to download the printer driver file from this web page. 

Open the printer driver file on your computer. Click the Continue button. Select the desired connection type correctly and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the software installation process.

Once the HP Envy 4522 printer installation process has been completed, try a test print.
