How to Clean HP Officejet 5740 Printheads?

 

  1. Make sure that the HP Officejet 5740 setup is powered on to open the cover at the top.
  2. After opening the cover, wait for two to three seconds.
  3. Disconnect the power cable of the printer.
  4. Raise the latch of the printhead.
  5. Remove the printhead from the printer.
  6. Take a dry cloth to dip it in distilled water.
  7. Squeeze excess water from the cloth.
  8. Wipe the contact pads of the printhead by using the cloth.
  9. Leave the printhead to dry and fix it back into the printer.
  10. Close the printhead latch and access cover.
  11. Connect the power cable to complete the printhead cleaning process.
