The Windows provides different drivers for their variations of printers. The drivers usually support the functionality of the print job. Before we proceed to the different connection types that can be established between the printer and the computer,
Make sure you have installed the driver with the provided installation disk on your computer.
If you do not have the installation disc, you can download the driver from the official HP support website.
You can select the type of printer and the model name.
Select the type of operating system based on your computer.
When the file is downloaded, the device installation settings will open.
Click the Yes radio button and click on Save Changes.

To make the connection with a USB cable, make sure the computer is turned on and connected to the internet.
Turn on the printer. Connect the USB cable to the USB port of the printer, which is at the rear end, and connect the other end of the USB cable to the computer.
When the Found New Hardware window appears, follow either of the prompts to install the driver. Now, try to print.
If you can detect the printer on your computer, it indicates that the driver is installed.
You can click on Continue and proceed with a test print.
