How To Resolve Printer Problems In Windows 10?
Step 1: Detach the power cord from the wall outlet and power off the printer. Wait for sometime and then power up the printer. Power cycling the printer will solve most errors with Windows 10 printer troubleshooter.
Step 2: If you are using the wired connection, ensure that the printer’s USB cable secured into the computer’s port. You can replace the USB cable if the error persists.
Step 3: If you are using the wireless connection, ensure that your printer and computer are connected to the same wireless network. Reduce your router’s channel interference and place the printer closer to your access point.
Step 4: Uninstall the old version of the printer driver from your Windows 10 computer. Click the Start menu on your computer and select Settings. Choose Devices and select Printers & Scanners.
Step 5: From the list of printers displayed, choose your printer and then select Remove Device. Click Add a Printer or Scanner and wait until your printer’s name appears. Select your printer model and click Add.
Step 6: Go to the manufacturer’s site and download the latest printer driver for your Windows 10 computer.
Step 7: Now, go to the printer manufacturer’s site and download the troubleshooter. Open the Windows 10 printer troubleshooter and select the problem you are facing. Click Run and follow the on-screen steps to solve the issue.
Step 8: Some other methods to solve the printing problem is to delete and reset the print spooler. Go to Search bar and enter Services. Select Services from the list of results displayed. Click the Standards tab and then select Print Spooler.
Step 9: Click Stop and select OK. In the search bar, enter %WINDIR%\system32\spool\printers and press the Enter key on the keyboard. Delete all the files in the folder and go back to the Standards tab.
Step 10: Select Print Spooler and click Start. Choose Automatic in the Startup Type box and click OK.
Step 11: Go to the Printer Settings menu and check if the Use Printer Offline mode is enabled.
Step 12: If the problem prevails, check your computer’s OS version. Update it if you are having a version older than Windows 10. If so, update it and your printer problem will be solved with Windows 10 printer troubleshooter.
