How to Install HP Officejet Pro 8740

Step 1: Take out the HP Officejet 8740 printer from its box.
  1. Remove the wrappers over the HP Officejet 8740 printer carton and open it.
  2. Take out the HP Officejet printer from the box and keep it on your desk. Make sure that the desk is clean before placing it.
  3. Remove the protecting tapes and packing materials from the printer.
  4. Raise the scanner lid at the top of the HP Officejet Pro 8740 Setup.
  5. Remove the packing material and close the lid.
Step 2: Attach the power cable and set your preferences.
  1. Take the power cable given in the box and remove it from the package.
  2. Attach an end of the cable to the electrical port of the printer and power supply directly.
  3. Power on the HP Officejet Pro 8740 printer by force pressing its power key.
  4. On the control panel of the Officejet printer, choose your language and country. Also, set the date and time.
Step 3: Load the HP Officejet Pro 8740 printer’s input tray.
  1. Take a bunch of letter or A4-sized sheets and tap them on a flat surface.
  2. Tap the sheets on an even surface. Pull the input tray of the HP Officejet Pro 8740 Setup and keep the sheets in it.
  3. Make sure that the packing material is removed from the tray before placing the sheets.
Note: Place the sheets with their printable side facing down.
  1. Fix the sheets by sliding the guides in the tray.
  2. Close the input tray.
Step 4: Fix the cartridges of the HP Officejet Pro 8740 printer.
  1. Raise the access door of the ink cartridges.
  2. Now the carriage moves and settles at its place.
  3. Take the ink cartridges given in the printer carton.
  4. Remove the tapes and protective materials from the printer.
  5. Insert the cartridges into their slots of the HP Officejet Pro 8740 printer.
  6. Make sure that the color of the cartridges matches the slots.
Step 5: Launch the printer software.
  1. Launch the software of the HP Officejet Pro 8740 printer on your computer to complete the setup.
