 Step 1: Remove the HP printer from Devices and Printers

Initially, make sure that your printer is not connected to the computer.

Turn off your printer if it is turned ON.

Go to your Windows 8 computer’s Devices and Printers window.

Select and right-click on your HP printer.

Click the Remove Device option.

Once the printer has been removed, restart your computer.


Step 2: Reconnect the printer to your computer


For USB:

First, connect your computer to the Internet.

Turn on your printer.

Now, connect the printer and the computer using a USB cable.

As soon as you do it, a window titled Found new hardware will be displayed on the screen.

Complete the HP printer driver installation by following the on-screen instructions.


For Wireless:

Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on your printer’s control panel.

Once the Wi-Fi light starts blinking, release the button.

Now, proceed to press the WPS button on your router within two minutes.

Once the printer gets connected to the Wi-Fi, perform the driver installation on your computer.


For Wired:

Connect your HP printer to the router using an Ethernet cable.

Make sure to connect the computer to the same network.
