Fix Lexmark 2600 Troubleshooting

Step 1: For driver updates, you can remove and reinstall the software on Windows by choosing Start and selecting All Programs or Programs. Choose the printer program folder from the list. Choose Uninstall and follow the on-screen instructions to remove the printer software. Restart the system before reinstalling the printer software. Select Cancel on all the New Hardware Found screens. Insert the installation CD and follow the on-screen Lexmark 2600 troubleshooting instructions to reinstall the software.

Step 2: In Mac, close all the open software applications and double-click on the printer folder from the desktop. Double-click the Uninstaller icon.

Step 3: Follow the instructions on the Windows screen to remove the printer software. Restart the PC before reinstalling the software. Insert the CD and reinstall the software by following the instructions on the computer.

Step 4: Enable the USB port in Windows by clicking Start > Control Panel. Select System and Maintenance > System. Choose Device Manager in the Settings menu for printer error.

Step 5: Ensure that the printer is not in sleep mode by unplugging the power cord from the wall outlet. Wait for about ten seconds, and reinsert the power cord into the wall outlet. Press the Power button to switch on the printer.

Step 6: Check the USB cable for any damage. If it is damaged, use a new cable. Attach the square end of the USB cable into the back of the printer. Now, connect the rectangular end of the USB cable into the USB port of the computer. The USB port is given with the USB symbol.

Step 7: Temporarily disable the security programs in Windows by closing the active programs. Disable the security programs. Click Start in Windows. Select My computer and double-click the DVD or CD drive icon.

Step 8: Follow the instructions on the system screen to install the software. When the installation is complete, enable the security software again.

Step 9: You can also press the Power button to switch off the printer. Remove the power cord from the wall outlet. Disable the power supply from the printer. Then, reconnect the power plug one end into the printer and the other end of the power cord into the wall outlet. Push down the Power button to switch on the printer.

Step 10: If the Power light is not on, then make sure that the power cord is correctly connected to the printer and plugged into the outlet.
