 Step 1:To Examine the connectivity

  •   You can download a compatible app and then solve the issue by following the on-screen instructions.
  •    Now, change the default driver to installed driver and then check if the printer still displays printer offline message.
  •    Try resetting the printer to check the connection status. If the HP Officejet 5740 Troubleshooting issue still persists, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: To select the correct port

  •    If the driver is using an inappropriate communication port, then the error might occur. Thus, ensure that you select the correct port.
