Unboxing Setup

  • "Cut" the printer box's sealing tape with a box cutter and open box.
  • Remove the HP machine and other accessories from the box carefully.
  • The HP Laserjet Pro MFP M148DW setup accessories include the user guide, power cable, and a USB type-B cable.
  • An easy way to remove the machine from the box is to set the box on its side and pull the machine out by using the plastic handles.
  • "Remove" the styrofoam packing material from the M148DW printer and set the printer on a flat surface.
  • Unwrap the M148DW printer’s plastic bag and discard it.
  • The M148DW machine’s lids are secured by orange tapes.
  • Peel off all these tapes from the M148DW machine’s exterior and interior surfaces.
  • Remove the plastic film from the M148DW printer’s control panel.

Loading Paper

  • Lower the M148DW printer’s front cover and load a paper stack in the paper input tray.
  • Adjust the HP machine’s paper width guides to secure the paper stack.
  • Close the front cover.

Power Connection

  • Take the HP power cable out of the plastic bag and uncoil it.
  • Attach it to the rear power port of the HP Laserjet Pro MFP M148DW setup and the wall electrical outlet.
  • Press the M148DW machine’s Power button. It is located on the front side of the printer beside the front door.
  • Install the M148DW printer driver on your computer to complete the rest of the setup.
