How to Install Brother HL-3170CDW Printer?

Step 1: Remove the Brother HL-3170CDW machine from its package.
  • Open the printer carton.
  • Take out the Brother HL-3170CDW printer from the box and place it on a dust-free surface.
  • You can find the drum unit & toner cartridge assemblies, waste toner box, quick setup guide, belt unit, CD-ROM, and AC Power cord inside the printer.
Step 2: Take all the packing materials from the printer.
  • Tear the tapes on the Brother HL-3170CDW Setup printer.
  • Raise the cover at the top and remove the packing materials from the printer.
  • Remove the drum unit and toner assemblies from the printer.
  • Also, remove orange-colored packing piece from the belt unit.
  • Gently shake each drum and toner cartridge assemblies.
  • Fix the drum and toner cartridges assemblies into the Brother HL-3170CDW machine.
  • Close the access cover at the top of the Brother HL-3170CDW printer.
Step 3: Load the paper tray of the Brother machine.
  • Draw the paper tray of the Brother machine and remove it.
  • Press the green-colored paper guide release lever and slide the paper guides to the size of the sheets you intend to load.
  • Take a stack of enough sheets and place them in the paper tray.
  • Ensure that the sheets are below the maximum paper mark.
  • Note: The maximum paper mark is represented by three down arrows.
  • Insert the paper tray into the Brother HL-3170CDW machine.
Step 4: Execute the power connection
  • Unpack the power cord enclosed within the Brother HL-3170CDW Setup printer carton.
  • Plug the cord to the respective port of the Brother machine to an electrical wall socket.
  • Hold the power button present on the Brother printer.
  • Configure your preferences on the printer’s panel.
Step 5: Set up the printer software
  • Download and launch the software for the Brother HL-3170CDW machine on your computer or laptop.
  • Connect the Brother machine to your computer and complete the unboxing setup.
